My escapade

Lotsa things happened in these past 2 months. And I am at fault for all of them. I am once again thinking of Thailand. Is this the place where I can go and let go of all my past and worries and mistakes and start life anew?

Life

The greatest pleasure and achievement in life is not about making the most money. It is the simple pleasure of having the time to spend with your loved ones.

A fave since my teens

I probably won't be able to catch their live concert in Singapore tomorrow. But a shout-out still goes to MLTR for starting my love for music!

Miss World Singapore 2009 Winner - Justified or not?!

I know our Miss World Singapore 2009 Winner, Ris Low, has pretty much 'shocked' the local community with her 'slur' and 'bad' pronunciation of certain words. But whether there is a need to subject her to much ridicule and criticism is something I have been pondering about after watching that infamous Youtube video.

Sure...everyone is entitled to their opinions but somehow I would compare this situation to football. As a football fan myself, I pass remarks saying this or that player ain't good enough and I could probably play better. But the truth is it might not be so. Just like the Singapore Idol and any other contests that you might watch, there are bound to be participants that you think are simply not good enough and you will have that little thought creeping into your head and saying I can do better!

No doubt Ris Low may have to improve her diction and her answers to certain questions, but the fact that she won Miss World Singapore 2009 is a feat that should be given recognition for that in itself. All humans have weaknesses and their 'irritable' habits. I don't see fans supporting their favourite celebrities less even if those celebrities smoke, drink, indulge in sex orgies, cheat on their partners or get high on drugs!

My point here is that everyone deserves chances in life. And that includes improving on your weaknesses.

Dear Aunty Susan, Rest in Peace

14th August 2009 marked the day where Aunty Susan passed away.

She is the mother-in-law of Sharon's younger third sister.

Though I may not know Aunty Susan well, but she definitely comes across as a positive and courageous woman with a friendly and infectious smile for everyone.

My thoughts go out to Simon, Angela and Jayden.

Dear Aunty Susan, may you rest in peace and look upon your loved ones from time to time and blessed them with happiness and good health.
